While you’re in Citrus County, bring your pup by our walk-in welcome center for the Citrus County Visitors Bureau. We have brochures, maps, and a ton of tourist information to make you feel like a local.   • Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park
    • Dogs unfortunately are not allowed into the wildlife area, but the park offers complimentary self-service kennels where your pooch can relax in the shade until you are done meandering the 1-mile boardwalk full of native Florida wildlife, exhibits and live educational encounters.
  • Crystal River National Wildlife Complex and Visitors Center
    • This beautiful outdoor space, right on Kings Bay is pup friendly. Loads of grass, and lovely views, plus picnic tables for you and your dog to enjoy. A must stop when visiting Crystal River with your pup. Free for both humans and canines alike.
  • Howard’s Flea Market
    • A large open-air market with almost anything you can imagine, where pups are not just allowed, but welcomed! Open from early to midday hours every Friday through Sunday.
  • The Crystal River Archaeological State Park
    • Well behaved dogs on a leash are allowed in this glorious 61 acre park full of rich history. The park offers wonderful views, hiking and picnic tables located in ideal spots along the river. $3 for parking. Open from 8am to Sunset 365 days a year.

Please remember - always bring doggy bags to clean up after your canine friend, and dogs must be on a leash at all times!!!

  • The Shed at MacRae’s - Homosassa
    • An iconic spot that’s been around for decades. It offers wonderful water views and tasty local specialties. If you and your dog are friendly, and your pup is on a leash, MacRae’s will welcome you both with open arms.
  • Cattle Dog Coffee Roasters - Crystal River
    • Their wrap-around porch at their Crystal River location is waiting for you and your doggy! Great coffee, sandwiches, pasties and salads.
  • Cattle Dog Coffee Roasters - Inverness

  • Fort Cooper State Park –
