Crystal River Preserve State Park: Crystal Cove/Mullet Hole
The Crystal Cove and Mullet Hole portions of the Crystal River Preserve State Park provide a network of short easily hikable forested trails through with access to a salt-water canal to the Crystal River, salt-water marsh and a fresh-water pond. The area is popular for people and birds interested in fishing. Look for Spotted Sandpipers at low-tide and keep an eye (and an ear) out for Clapper Rails and Least Bitterns in the salt-water marsh. A great place for warblers during the spring migration. Don't be suprised if you here a loud breath from the water. That would be a manatee.
