Dixie Shores & Lake Loop

The Dixie Shores Trails and the Lake Loop across the street are part of the Crystal River Preserve State Park. Access can be limited by season on the Dixie Shores side since its a functioning wetland with all the variety of life you would expect. The Lake Loop across the street and a hundred yards south of the Dixie Shores Trail Parking lot is far more accessible and loops around scenic Lakes created by phosphate mining operations here in the early 1900's. Passerines, ducks, wading birds and raptors can be seen here.
