Fantasy Fisherman - Captain Aaron Shields
Few things are more exciting than a day on the water spent fishing, especially if you end up making a big catch. For many years, I have had the good fortune of helping fishermen of all experience levels catch the trophy of a lifetime in the Citrus County area, also referred to as the Nature Coast. Here in Citrus County, we have seven different rivers, including the Withlacoochee, Crystal, Salt, Halls, Homosassa, St. Martin’s and Chassahowitzka River. The pristine waters are home to a variety species that can be caught on a spinning rod or a fly rod, including redfish, trout, sheepshead, black drum, mangrove, snapper, cobia and tarpon. In fact, the Homosassa tarpon have a reputation around the world, as many fly fishing records have been set in our area.
